Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2021-22 School Year, Emerson Eagles!

It has been a long time since our whole community has been together in-person, and we are very excited to welcome our Eagles back to campus this fall. The past couple of years have been challenging, so we are doing everything possible to support your child's transition back to school. Our school theme this year is Shine Your Light. We want our Eagles to "shine bright," as we help them to feel confident and positive about their unique identities and their place in our school community.

To keep our school community healthy and safe, we are implementing several protocols, including:

  • Wearing masks indoors
  • Physical distancing where possible
  • Ventilation and air filtration in all classrooms
  • Eating outdoors when possible
  • Cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day
  • Surveillance COVID screening for all unvaccinated students and staff

Just as physical health and safety is important, so is emotional health. To this end, teachers are using LBUSD's "Smart Restart" curriculum for the first three weeks of school. Smart Restart establishes a tone of care and community in the classroom and helps students transition back to school with intentional opportunities for relationship and culture building.

Emerson's faculty and staff are committed to creating a safe and supportive learning community where everyone feels a sense of belonging, and learning is engaging, challenging, and fun. By building positive relationships, setting high expectations, and meeting the needs of diverse learners, our students will thrive academically, socially, and emotionally at Emerson this year!

In partnership,

Principal Moutet
